HISTORY

C-1, Inc. Property Management, Construction and Consulting began in 1999, and has grown tremendously over the years.  At the company’s inception, we purchased abandoned and foreclosed properties to renovate and sell. As time progressed, we saw an opportunity to fill a niche in the local real estate market—offering affordable housing for persons who might not be ready for homeownership.  In so doing, we were able to enhance, beautify and stabilize multiple communities. We have proudly renovated hundreds of properties and housed many persons in and around the greater Memphis metropolitan area. We take pride in producing a high-quality product as well as providing first-rate service to our tenants. Now in operation for over a decade, we have expanded our business to include other specialized services.  Please see the Company Services portion of our website for a detailed description of all our services.

COMPANY MANAGEMENT PROFILE

Gerald Neely

Gerald Neely is president of C-1, Inc. He has been licensed by the State of Tennessee Board of Contractors as a general contractor since 1998. He is extremely knowledgeable of the construction industry and strives to keep abreast of industry changes and improvements. He has supervised hundreds of subcontractors and is dedicated to ensuring that the construction work is done correctly and professionally. His past experiences give him keen foresight into facilitating all kinds of construction projects—large and small. Gerald is the former Contractor’s Assistance Program (CAP) Coordinator for the City of Memphis’ Division of Housing and Community Development. While serving in that capacity, he promoted small business expansion and helped countless companies strengthen their overall business capabilities. As CAP Coordinator, he proctored the only Residential Contractor’s Licensing Class offered via satellite from Chattanooga, Tennessee to students in Memphis, Tennessee. He served as class proctor for 5 years, administering 2 classes per year. Over that 5-year period, more than four-hundred students completed the course in the Memphis area alone. In 2008, Gerald completed the Developer Incubator Course sponsored by the City of Memphis and the Center City Commission. The 15-week course introduced participants to the development process and local business opportunities. Gerald is a graduate of The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Kaela Neely

Kaela Neely is vice-president and office manager of C-1, Inc. With experience in the local government and nonprofit sectors, she brings unique organizational abilities to the table. She provides guidance for the company’s daily office operations. She has been instrumental in executing various programs and strategies to meet the company’s goals and objectives. She also implements initiatives to strengthen customer loyalty as well as the customer base. Kaela has also been a licensed Realtor® since 2000 and is proudly with Century 21, Maselle and Associates. As an affiliate broker with a number of professional designations, Kaela specializes in residential property sales. She is a member of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, Tennessee Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. For more info, visit www.kaelaneely.com.
